Culminating a full season of air shows, the US Air Force Thunderbirds return to their oasis in the Nevada desert at Nellis Air Force Base just outside Las Vegas. Aviation Nation is a homecoming show for the Thunderbirds and open house event for base personnel, their families, and the community. It is especially exciting for aviation enthusiasts, considering Nellis Air Force Base is the "Home of the Fighter Pilot," hosting numerous exercises year-round with just about every military aircraft the United States and its allies operate. Here, it is possible to see aircraft flying and on display that do not travel or appear elsewhere.
